Banaue Rice Terraces

These are the photos I captured when the group arrived the night before at Patyay after descending the summit of Mount Amuyao. This was the time wherein I was up close and personal with Banaue Rice Terraces. Photos are still part of my Mount Amuyao Climb Collection last October 2009.

At Mount Amuyao Summit

Above photos shows us what amazing view we discovered while enjoying our time in the summit of Mount Amuyao, one of the highest mountain in Cordillera mountain ranges. With this moment, inner peace within myself realized that the world we have offers this kind of beauty. Beauty in nature re-energize our exhausted mind and body caused by the life we endure in the city.

Above photos were my souvenir at the summit of Mount Amuyao. We woke up early in the morning before sun rise, and then we waited for the moment until the sun greeted us. Felt like sun was close to us.

The Climb

Above photos were few memories that I have with the group who climbed Mount Amuyao last October 2009. When looking at these photos, it does not seem we were going to face a tough and rough climb. All smile in front of camera. Photos are all part of Amuyao Climb photo collection last October 2009.

River

This is one of the nearby river that we saw when the trek started. This is not far from the jump-off aread in Malacana Barlig. Honestly, when I took this picture, it feels like its refreshing, this kind of river is seldom to be found in Metro Manila. Photo above still part of my Amuyao Climb photo collection.

Unnamed Falls At The Mountain Trail Road

While passing at the mountain road on our way to Barlig which is our jump-off area, we were surprised that we will see a great nature view while inside the jeep. Because of this fall, the whole group did a stop over for few minutes to enjoy and appreciate this unnamed falls. Above photos are still part of my Amuyao Climb Collection last Oct 2009.

Ifugao Race - Native Filipino Blood Flows Continue

Above photo is one of my souvenir about Ifugao people. They are one of the Filipino natives that we still have today. Their race remain until today and their culture continues to nourish the Filipino heritage with different support from government, non local government and even from international groups. And I hope that their tradition continues until the next and future generations to pass their cultural ties and identity to young Filipino like me. This photo is still part of Mount Amuyao Climb last October 2009.

Mountain Trail Road View

These photos above were some snapshots that I had while inside the jeepney on our way to the jump-off area of Mount Amuyao in Barlig. I can say that the road to Barlig is one of the best road I passed by because I can see lots of mountains while traveling in this road. Very different from what I used to see while living in the city.

Famous Banaue Rice Terraces From Viewing Deck

After we had breakfast, we passed one of the viewing deck of famous Banaue Rice Terraces while on our way to Barlig before we hit the jump off area. The group spent time in this place since this is one of the great place to take pictures together with the amazing terraces. From this place, the amazement that I have while viewing simple terraces at Las Vegas Lodge Banaue to this place become greater since I felt at that time that I am nearer in one of the greatest tourist spot in my country. The feeling was ecstatic. The photos above are still part of Mount Amuyao Climb collection which happened last Oct 2009.

Las Vegas Lodge Banaue Bar

With the cold weather that embraces people live in mountain ranges such as Banaue Ifugao, having alcohol or wine helps a lot. Photos captured last Oct 16, 2009, still part of my Mount Amuyao Mountain Climb Collection.

Las Vegas Lodge Banaue - Antiques As It Embraces Banaue Culture

Some cultural antiques display at Las Vegas Lodge Banaue, it seems the owner of the restaurant has a habit to collect this kind of stuff which shows that it embraces Banaue culture, one of the rich culture that we have in the north of Philippines. Photos captured last Oct 16, 2009, still part of Amuyao Climb photo collection.

Breakfast At Las Vegas Lodge Banaue

After a long hours of travel from Manila to Banaue, the group had its breakfast in Las Vegas Lodge Banaue. After we got out from the bus, the morning breeze greets the group and I felt the cold weather in mountains and its a signal that we are already in the area of Cordillera Mountain Ranges.

Photos captured while at Las Vegas Lodge Banaue with some of my mountaineering group last Oct 16, 2009 before the start of our formal climb.

Sky Garden Sculpture - Prism 24

Photo above entitled as "Prism 24", this art sculpture is another art display that can be found in Sky Garden at SM City North Edsa, another artistic creation of Joel Ferraris. Below is the excerpt from the artist blog

PRISM 24
Metal-reinforced fiberglass, airbrushed-painted with automotive lacquer paints, with colored acrylic sheets and internally illuminated by LED lights.

"Modern life, with the presence of highly advanced science and digital technology, simulates a prism. As manmade colors interplaying with natural hues and shades add beauty and vibrancy during the day, the unnatural pre-programmed neon and all artificial lights share with the moon’s borrowed light to illumine the eerily nocturnal darkness shrouded in mystery." JOEL EUGENIO E. FERRARIS, 2008
