Estuarine Stonefish

Here is my contribution for Ruby Tuesday. Stonefish which cannot immediately identify that it is a fish. Look at it closely. If not because of its eyes and fins I can barely notice that there is a sea creature inside this aquarium.

Here is the excerpt I got from the Manila Ocean Park for Estuarine Stonefish.

Called as "Sumalapaw" in Filipino language. This can be found in Indo-West Pacific like India, China, Philippines, Papua New Guinea and Australia. They live in coral reef and estuaries. They eat fish and crustaceans. Makes a shallow depression by scooping up sand or muds with its pectoral fins until it is piled up around the side of its body. Comes out at night and often moves on top of reefs. Listed in the Guinnes Book of Record as the most venomous fish in the world.
